Polymarket Whale Alerts: Real-Time Notifications for Big Trades

What Are Whale Alerts?

A whale alert fires when a large trade is detected on Polymarket’s order book. Edge Radar processes every trade on the CLOB in real-time and triggers alerts when trades exceed our size thresholds. Each alert includes the market, side, price, trade size, and the wallet’s lifetime PnL and win rate.

Alerts are delivered via Telegram for instant mobile notifications. The paid channel delivers alerts in real-time (under 5 seconds from trade execution). The free channel has a 15-minute delay. Both are also visible on the Alerts page.

Alert Types

Whale Buy ($10K–$50K)

Standard whale alerts fire for single trades between $10K and $50K. These represent significant conviction from the trader. The alert shows the wallet name, lifetime PnL, win rate, market question, side, entry price, and trade size.

Big Whale Buy ($50K+)

The highest-conviction single-trade signal. Trades above $50K are rare and almost always from the most profitable wallets on the platform. Big whale alerts are labeled distinctly so you can prioritize them.

Whale Exit (Large Sells)

When a whale sells a large position, it’s equally informative. A $30K sell might indicate the wallet is taking profit or cutting a position they no longer believe in. Exit alerts help you manage your own positions on the same market.

Accumulation Alerts

The most subtle and often most valuable alert type. When a wallet builds a position through multiple smaller trades ($5K here, $3K there), each individual trade doesn’t hit the whale threshold. Edge Radar aggregates trades by wallet and market, firing an accumulation alert when the cumulative position crosses our threshold with at least 2 trades. These signals indicate patient, deliberate positioning.

Mega Position Alerts

When a wallet’s total position in a single market crosses $100K, $250K, $500K, or $1M. These fire at each threshold, so a wallet growing from $80K to $300K would trigger alerts at $100K and $250K. Currently tracking 139 active mega positions.

Settlement Alerts

When a smart money wallet’s position resolves profitably, a settlement alert announces the win with the profit amount. These track which wallets are winning most consistently.

Alert Hierarchy and Deduplication

Edge Radar uses a priority system to avoid alert spam:

• Big Whale > Whale > Accumulation — If a trade triggers both whale and accumulation thresholds, only the whale alert fires.
• Market maker filter — Wallets placing opposing bets on the same market within 60 seconds are detected as market makers and excluded from alerts.
• Price filter — Markets with prices above 95¢ or below 5¢ are skipped (nearly settled or near-certain outcomes).
• Volume filter — Markets with less than $10K total volume are skipped (too illiquid).

How to Read and Act on Alerts

When an alert hits your Telegram, follow this checklist:

1. Check wallet PnL — Is this wallet profitable? $1M+ PnL is a top-tier signal. Negative PnL wallets are noise.
2. Check win rate — Above 55% is good. Above 65% is excellent. 90%+ is exceptional (like DrPufferfish at 91%).
3. Evaluate the market — Do you understand what’s being traded? Is the entry price in the 15–85¢ sweet spot?
4. Check for convergence — Have other SM wallets taken the same side? Multiple wallets agreeing is the strongest signal.
5. Act within 5 minutes — Price impact from the whale trade dissipates over 5–15 minutes. Enter early for the best price.
